This particular spot

seems like a town now

with all the stores, boats,

wagons, water tanks,

and tents etc

A busy scene on the Gallipoli Peninsula. Supplies of food and water for the 23rd Battalion were stored here, behind Lone Pine (the ridge in the right background). There are numerous dugouts on the slope behind the track in the foreground, which was known as Artillery Road.
