Trucking and sorting empty mail bags at the Australian Base Post Office.

All mail bags were immediately turned when opened, any damaged bags being forwarded to the Civil Postal Service for repair, and other bags folded for reuse. Australian jute bags were used for the despatch of parcels overseas, the better class canvas bags being used for letter mails only.
